North Coast
The Dolphin Coast — twenty minutes from the airport, an hour from anything stressful.
About North Coast
The North Coast runs from Umhlanga up through Ballito, Salt Rock and Zinkwazi. It is the easiest coastline in the province to reach — King Shaka International sits right in the middle of it — and it balances developed, family-safe beaches in the south with quiet, forested stretches further north.
Things to do here
- Thompson’s Bay and Willard Beach tidal pools
- The Ballito coastal promenade
- Sugar Rush Park go-karting and farmyard
- Crocodile Creek feeding demonstrations
- Holla Trails mountain biking through the cane
- Coastal dune forest boardwalks
- Umhlanga lighthouse and Lagoon Nature Reserve
- Ballito Junction and Gateway shopping
