Sani Pass is the reason people come to the southern Drakensberg — a rough, switchbacking 4×4 track that climbs from the Underberg valley to the Lesotho border at 2,876 m. We’ve partnered with Lesotho On Track, the Underberg-based Sani Pass and Lesotho specialists, for every guided drive, hike and cycle route on this page, and with Premier Resort Sani Pass in Himeville for comfortable base-camp accommodation at the foot of the pass.

Add lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa or a local Basotho restaurant to any day tour for R275 per adult / R170 per child under 12. Some tours carry a minimum group charge (shown above) — smaller groups are welcome and quoted individually. Bicycle and 4×4-with-hike tours cannot accommodate children under 16.

Let us drive. We handle the road transfer from Durban and the connection to Lesotho On Track, the licensed 4×4 operator who runs the pass itself. The pass is not a self-drive road for an ordinary car — and the border post will turn you around if your vehicle is not up to it.
