Isandlwana & Rorke’s Drift Overnight
One night, two battlefields, and the twenty-four hours in 1879 that changed both kingdoms.
The Package
The short version of the most famous day
If you only have a weekend, this is the one. On 22 January 1879 a British column was destroyed at Isandlwana in the morning, and a mission station at Rorke’s Drift held out against overwhelming odds the same night. Both sites are within half an hour of each other. We drive you up, put you in a good country guesthouse, and put a proper local guide on the field with you.

Getting there — your choice
Let us drive. Return transfer from Durban plus all site transfers. Four hours each way on the N3 and R33 — better done from a passenger seat, especially the day you drive back after a long morning on the field.
Self-drive. Prefer your own car? We drop the transport element and adjust the package accordingly — you still get the accommodation, the activities and the full itinerary, plus directions and our local phone support for the whole trip.
